Japan urged to explore opportunities in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Consul General of Japan in Chennai Kojiro Uchiyama discussed the prospects and possibilities of establishment of various industries in the State towards strengthening bilateral relations.


Mr. Kojiro met Mr. Jagan Reddy  at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Tadepalli on Monday. According to a release, Mr. Kojiro invited Mr. Reddy to visit Japan. Mr. Reddy called upon Mr. Kojiro to explore the opportunities available in the State with corruption-free and transparent governance for establishing desired industries.


Mr. Jagan Reddy said the Andhra Pradesh Investment Promotion and Monitoring Act, which was recently passed, would ensure support to the industries and investors right from the stage of investment to production, besides offering land, water and electricity for lesser prices to boost the industrial sector.


He said the government was ready to allocate land for automobile, electronics and pharmaceutical industries in the State, and asked Mr. Kojiro to look into the possibilities of investing in cold storage, warehouses, agriculture laboratories and other infrastructure.


He said that the government reserved 75% jobs in industries to locals people so that there would be no opposition and hindrances. He explained about the establishment of special centres for the development of skilled manpower required for the industry.
